About the Project

The City of Medicine Lake is being proactive in addressing its aging infrastructure that cause maintenance issues and reliability concerns. The City will be making long-term public infrastructure improvements. Construction is scheduled to start in spring 2024.

The following are included as part of the 2024 Street and Utility Project improvements:

  • Complete street rehabilitation on Peninsula Rd, Kaiser Ave, and Colonial Cir

  • Watermain installation (connected to City of Plymouth system)

  • New fire hydrants

  • Sanitary sewer improvements

  • Replacement of trail along S. Shore Drive

  • Parking lot upgrades to Jevne Park

  • Irrigation upgrades at Memorial Park

  • And other improvements!

New Update on City-Led Plumbing Program

Unfortunately, the bids received on July 11 for a City-led bulk service installation were extremely high, to the level of 2x expectations. The City Council voted on August 5th to reject all bids and therefore will not be proceeding with the program.

Timeline

  • December 2023 - Contractor bids received

  • January 2024 - City Council hires contractor

  • March 2024 - Public Meeting on March 18

  • April 2024 - Construction starts

  • Early Fall 2024 - Water service available for connection

  • November 2024 – Substantially completed

  • June 2025 - Final completion

Project Groundbreaking

The City held an official groundbreaking for the project on April 1. The event was hosted at Jevne Park.
